La Grande Tortue is a small and friendly parc enjoying a pretty location that also makes it ideal for for exploring the region.
The owners here will always give you a friendly welcome and you will find that this is an ideal parc for those families who like things ‘rustic’ and ‘traditional’.
Having said that, La Grande Tortue has a small but pleasant restaurant and a choice of family or children’s pools.
This small parc is set among shady trees just a short walk from the pretty village of Candé-sur-Beuvron, close to the River Beuvron but very much off the usual tourist trail, amid pleasant, rural surroundings.
Even so, there are shops and restaurants close to hand and you’re well placed to explore all the popular châteaux: including nearby Chaumont with its enchanting tree-lined setting; elegant Cheverny and the Renaissance château of Blois.

From Blois:
Coming off the A10 motorway at junction 17 follow signs for Blois centre, Tours and then Amboise and Chaumont.
You will find yourself on the south of the Loire on the D751.
Following the D751 southwards, away from Blois for 7kms, look out for a sharp turning to the right sign-posted ‘Cande–sur–Beuvron’ D173.
This is a very quiet/fast road, which takes you along the south side of the Loire.
As well as being a pleasant drive, it’s also the quicker option.
Continue along this road until you reach the village of Cande sur Beuvron.
At the first main crossroads, turn right towards Chaumont.
This takes you on the D751 over the River Beuvron.
Leaving Cande, after 1.5 km you will approach a sweeping right hand bend.
Take the turning left here.
The campsite is a further 100m on the left.
(It is sign-posted along the way).
